With your long distance travel ticket you can use the busses, regional trains or trams to your departure / from your arrival train station within Bremen, Bremerhaven, Delmenhorst, and Oldenburg. Please always take note of the relevant coverage, i.e. the tariff zone covered by your City-Ticket for Bremen (Tariff Zones 100 and 101), Bremerhaven (Tariff Zone 250), Oldenburg (Tariff Zone 740), and Delmenhorst (Tariff Zone 710). The authorization to use the public transport ist indicated by the "+City" on the ticket (also on online- and mobile tickets). The "+ City regulation" applies to long distance travel tickets over 100 km. Exempted are tickets that were purchased at a super saver fare.
If the number of common travelers is noted on the long distance travel ticket, the city-ticket regulation also applies to the passengers. SingleTicket for Kids will have to be purchased in these cities for children travelling free of charge with DB.
Should your actual destination lie outside the cities of Bremen, Bremerhaven, Oldenburg, or Delmenhorst, then you will have to purchase at least one SingleTicket to cover the trip to your destination. You cannot purchase a connection ticket as an add-on to the City-Ticket.
The BahnCard 100 is, however, valid as a timed ticket for VBN public transport services in the cities of Bremen, Bremerhaven, Oldenburg, and Delmenhorst. If you would like to use your BahnCard 100 for trips beyond the city limits by using the regional buses, then you have to purchase a connection ticket in accordance with the VBN Tariff Provisions & Conditions for Transport. The local trains and buses of Weser-Ems-Bus can be used within VBN network without any extra charge.
